They won't say that they slept soundly on a stack of 12 fluffy mattresses. They will whine and complain about being forced to sleep on a pea. They will ignore the 12 mattresses and only see the pea. However if they contradict one another at least one of them is wrong. Just because you can't find a mechanism (a module or even just a group of circuits working in concert, distributed throughout) in the brain performing a certain task doesn't mean that it isn't there. But barring overwhelming evidence of the existence of these modules we should remain skeptical in light of the lack of neuroscientific evidence IMO.TCO348https://www.blogger.com/profile/15972478226700429070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8833074.post-71730394266919078352008-02-01T04:23:00.000-08:002008-02-01T04:23:00.000-08:00I already left a comment here before I'm not sure ...I already left a comment here before I'm not sure what happened to it but I take ap psych and listening to some of my teachers lectures in class I sit there wondering why someone would think of some of these words or concepts. I also found out this week that the drug that I take to keep functioning during this dopamine cocktail increases some additional dopamine secretion. I feel like a walking dopamine factory. I also have cycles that mimic bipolar and really result in my life as being one flow experience after another for a period of time. No, and unfortunately, with regard to therapeutic interventions, treatments, etc. the opposite seems to be true. I don't think there is much of a market for bad news. At least some misonceptions can be put to rest. Have you read 'Therapy's Delusions' or 'House of Cards'? Not reassuring. I tried it and it 'helped' meaning it was great to tell someone everything I was thinking etc.. but real change did not ensue. But I don't think any such accrediting agency is needed.
